"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" certainly ranks among the best Christmas books ever. More touching and less political than "A Christmas Carol". Closer to home than "The Story of the Other Wiseman". Most of all its a good poke in the eye and a gentle tug at the heart strings of we who call ourselves Christians but can't seem to remember what that is really supposed to mean (if we ever learned). I can't read it out-loud to my kids without choking up during the entire last chapter.
