I took my kids camping on the beach. Yes: 1 Dad, 4 kids, 3 nights, 17 quadrillion gallons of salt water and 10 to the 20 grains of sand*. We played on the beach, hiked, visited visitors' centers and looked for clams. Pirates moved in next door, but turned out to be good neighbors. It was a fun trip and we're already planning on going back next year.
Bailey found a hermit crab (below).
Whatcha collecting, Seth?
Broken trees!
*rough estimates only, though I'm pretty sure about the number of kids.

What a beautiful family! (And look at how big they're getting!) I love the girls' braids. A very practical style for a few days without the normal amenities.
Where was Arlynda? And when are you going to take my kids camping on the beach?
Just kidding. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
Evelyn - Thanks! It was Arlynda's idea to do the braids, but I did help. I did quite a few of Abigail's braids.
Lura - Arlynda is going to have to write a post about what she was doing at the time.
That looks like fun. I wanted to see a picture of the pirates.
Sorry, I didn't get any pictures of the pirates, only their flag. The kids claimed they weren't real pirates, but they had beards and wore earrings, so that settles it in my mind.
