P. B. and Jorgee's is the name of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich restaurant that exists only in the imaginations of my siblings and me. Some of the stuff here is for real, some is only imaginary. It's up to you to tell the difference.

You guys make good food! Squash-apple grating sounds great to me.
I was wondering what the bracketed words and numbers mean. My conjecture is that they encode information on where the recipe can be found.
You're exactly right: the content of the brackets tell me where the recipe is. For instance, [Almost 102] (not sure if you can see that one, it's pretty small) is Almost Vegetarian by Diana Shaw page 102. [Home] is Moosewood Cooks at Home. [The Art] is The Art of Indian Vegetarian Cooking by Yamuna Devi. [Garden] is The Moosewood Restaurant Kitchen Garden by David Hirsch. [Blog] in this case happens to be Arlynda's blog. I hope that the squash-apple gratin is good. This will be my first time with that recipe. I've always been big on trying new things, but joining a CSA this year has forced us to really push our envelope (which is a good thing).
I saw the words "art" and "garden" first, so I thought maybe the kids did art one day and gardened another, but "almost" and "home" didn't make sense in that context.
Let me know how the gratin turns out. Jon is living in Chicago right now, and it sounds like a recipe I would like and he wouldn't, so it would be perfect for me to make while we're apart.

when I took over the menu-making I also decided to take over the shopping and cooking. It's easier to have control over all of the food than to split it up. Anyway, I really like cooking so it has been fun!
