Risk

I heard a story on the radio about the switch to digital broadcast TV that is supposed to happen in 2009. The term "risk" was used frequently when describing people that may not be able to receive television signals after the switch is made. Now that just strikes me as odd. Here is the part where I am supposed to put in a dictionary definition of "risk," but I'm not going to. Instead, I will just say that I have always associated risk with the chance of something bad happening. I just don't see what the bad thing is in the case of people who will no longer be able to watch television. "What can be done for the at-risk people?" seemed to be the gist of the story. I happen to be one of the at-riskers. I'll tell you what I am going to do: make sure my library membership is current, buy some more high-quality board games and be ready to spend more time with my family.

You don't watch TV anyway, so I don't think that it will really affect you much.
